Nature of Our Services
Lawrence Senior Support LLC is a non-medical family care coordination platform. We coordinate professional 30-minute companion visits for seniors in Lawrence, Kansas and the surrounding Douglas County area. Our role is limited to scheduling, coordinating, reporting, and keeping families informed. We are not a home health agency, medical provider, nursing service, clinical care organization, or licensed healthcare facility.
In plain language: We connect your loved one with friendly, trained companions who visit on your schedule — and we send you a written update after every visit. That is the full scope of what we do. We do not provide medical care of any kind.
What Our Services Are Not
Lawrence Senior Support services do not constitute and should not be interpreted as:
- Medical care, treatment, or intervention
- Clinical assessment, evaluation, or diagnosis
- Nursing care or home health services
- Professional health evaluation or monitoring
- Mental health counseling or psychiatric services
- Physical therapy, occupational therapy, or rehabilitation
- Medication management or administration
- Personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, feeding)
- A substitute for professional medical advice or emergency services
About Our Companions
The companions coordinated through Lawrence Senior Support are trained and vetted individuals who provide warm, attentive presence during scheduled visits. They may engage in conversation, provide a friendly check-in, or assist with light household tasks. Companions are not licensed medical professionals, certified nursing assistants, home health aides, or clinical practitioners of any kind.
Companions do not perform clinical observations, medical assessments, vital sign monitoring, wound care, or any activity that requires medical training or licensure. They are not qualified to and will not provide medical advice or opinions.
About Companion Observation Summaries
After each visit, your companion writes a brief, friendly observation summary. These summaries are non-clinical companion records — informal notes about how the visit went, your loved one’s general demeanor, what they did together, and anything the companion noticed that seemed worth sharing.
Important: Companion observation summaries are not medical reports, clinical assessments, professional health evaluations, or diagnostic records. They should not be used as a substitute for professional medical evaluation or relied upon for healthcare decision-making.
If a companion observation summary mentions a concern about your loved one’s wellbeing, this reflects the companion’s personal, non-clinical observation only. It does not represent a medical finding or professional assessment. We strongly encourage you to consult a licensed healthcare provider for any health-related concerns.
Emergency Protocol
If a companion encounters what appears to be a medical emergency during a visit, they are instructed to call 911 immediately. Companions will not attempt medical intervention beyond contacting emergency services and staying with your loved one until help arrives. Following any emergency, our coordination team will notify you directly as soon as possible.
Lawrence Senior Support is not an emergency response service. If you believe your loved one is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 directly.
Kansas Regulatory Context
Lawrence Senior Support LLC is a Kansas-registered non-medical companion coordination platform. Our services are deliberately structured to fall outside the scope of activities that require licensure as a home health agency, home health aide agency, adult day care facility, assisted-living facility, or residential health care facility under Kansas law. Specifically:
- We do not provide skilled nursing, medication administration, wound care, injections, catheter care, or any other service that requires a licensed nurse or certified home health aide.
- We do not provide hands-on personal care such as bathing, toileting, transferring, or dressing — the kinds of activities regulated under the Kansas Home Health Agency Licensure Act (K.S.A. 65-5101 et seq.).
- We do not hold a home health agency license from the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), and we do not represent that we do. Our services do not require one.
- We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid payment, are not enrolled as a Medicaid provider, and are not subject to CMS Conditions of Participation for home health agencies.
What we do provide is limited to: scheduling and coordinating visits from independent companions; conveying information between families and companions; producing non-clinical observation summaries based on what a companion saw during a visit (e.g., “Mrs. Smith was in good spirits and ate lunch”); and keeping families informed through written updates. None of these activities are regulated healthcare services in Kansas.
If a family’s loved one develops needs that require licensed care — skilled nursing, personal care assistance, memory care, or home health services — we will say so plainly and refer the family to appropriate licensed providers in the Lawrence and Douglas County area. We will never attempt to “work around” a clinical need by pretending a companion visit is sufficient.

Insurance and Coverage
Lawrence Senior Support services are not medical care and are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or standard health insurance. Some long-term care insurance policies may cover non-medical companion services — we recommend checking your policy. Certain Kansas assistance programs may also be applicable. We are happy to discuss options during your free consultation.
Your Responsibility
By using Lawrence Senior Support services, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Our services are non-medical and do not replace professional healthcare
- You are responsible for arranging appropriate medical care for your loved one
- Companion observation summaries are informal notes and should not be relied upon for health decisions
- You will not hold Lawrence Senior Support liable for medical outcomes or health changes
- You have read and agree to our Terms of Service
