What Senior Wellness Coordinators do
As an independent Senior Wellness Coordinator, you conduct scheduled companion visits at a senior's home. You are not an employee of Lawrence Senior Support — you are an independent contractor who operates your own business providing companion, wellness, or related personal services. Lawrence Senior Support coordinates client assignments and handles family communication. You decide how best to build rapport and serve each individual client.
Each visit generally involves some combination of the following non-medical services, depending on the client's needs and your professional judgment:
- Friendly conversation and companionship
- Light household assistance — tidying, mail retrieval, dishes (as requested by the client)
- Non-medical reminders (e.g., reminding a client of a scheduled appointment)
- Basic safety observation and reporting
- A brief post-visit companion observation summary submitted after the visit
- A family update message sent after each visit
Non-medical services only. Lawrence Senior Support is a family care coordination and communication platform. Senior Wellness Coordinators provide strictly non-medical, non-clinical companion services. You will never be asked to administer medication, provide medical advice, perform clinical assessments, assist with personal hygiene, or provide any form of medical or nursing care.
Freedom and flexibility built in
This is an independent contractor opportunity — not a job. You set your own schedule, choose your own methods, and maintain full control over how you conduct each visit. Lawrence Senior Support sets outcome standards (a completed visit and a post-visit summary) — not the methods, procedures, or manner of your performance.
You set your own availability. Tell us when you're available. We offer visit opportunities based on your schedule. You accept or decline any individual visit offer — no penalties, no minimums.
You can work for others. You are free to serve other families, agencies, and individuals. We actively encourage you to maintain your own independent client base outside of Lawrence Senior Support.
You use your own tools. You provide your own vehicle, phone, and any personal supplies. No uniforms, no company equipment, no restrictions on how you get the work done.
Whether you're building a senior companion business, supplementing income from another role, or looking for meaningful flexible work while in school — this structure is designed so you can fit it into your life on your terms.
How you get paid
You earn a flat fee of $25 per completed visit, regardless of the duration within the standard visit window. This is a per-visit fee — not an hourly rate. You submit a visit summary after each visit (which also serves as your invoice), and payments are processed weekly via direct deposit.
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes (including self-employment tax), business expenses, mileage, and insurance. Lawrence Senior Support does not withhold taxes from your payments. You will receive an IRS Form 1099-NEC if your annual payments total $600 or more.
What we look for in a coordinator
Before applying, please confirm you meet the following baseline requirements. These are non-negotiable for client safety and regulatory compliance.
Preferred but not required: prior experience in senior care, hospitality, hospice, social work, ministry, nursing, or customer service roles. Formal caregiving credentials (CNA, HHA) are a plus but are not required — Lawrence Senior Support provides strictly non-clinical companion services. Operating (or willingness to register) as a sole proprietor, DBA, or LLC is also a strong plus.
